29 Mar Presents Wrapped-Up in Work and Trouble
Hebrews 10:35-36
Therefore, do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance [patience], so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.
Can you picture this?
• Your Christmas gift is not opened.
• Your cheque is not cashed.
• Your delicious snack is not eaten.
• Your ringing phone is not answered.
• Your prize is not claimed.
It’s hard to imagine these ever happening!
Have you considered that God has so many things waiting for us to take and enjoy—gifts prepared to enrich our lives—but we don’t follow-through to receive them—because they don’t look like gifts!
Follow-Through to Receive the Gift Might Just Look Like This…
➢ volunteer with a charity—and receive true greatness
➢ invest financially—and experience fresh joy in giving
➢ reach out to a guest—and find a new friend
➢ dare to speak to a stranger—and find God speaks through you
➢ lend a hand to someone—and express Jesus’ love
➢ invite a friend to church—and see them come alive in Christ!
God’s process seems to remains the same: His presents and surprises aren’t regularly wrapped in gift paper! Instead, they’re often disguised: wrapped in work, inconvenience—and yes, even in trouble!
Your breakthrough will likely be preceded by follow-through! The gift may be wrapped in work or trouble!
